Terry's professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives. His civic affiliations include membership in the Salem Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation, the AgriBusiness Council of Oregon, and the Cascade Scenic Railway. Terry is one of the founders of Silver Falls Bank in Silverton, Oregon, and serves on its Board of Directors. He is also one of the founders of the Cascade Scenic Railway, and serves on its Board of Directors.

Terry's church affiliation is with the Apostolic Christian Church of America. He serves on the Church's National Committee that provides oversight for its domestic and international humanitarian aid programs.

Terry grew up on a grass seed and beef cattle ranch east of Salem, and being unable to stray too far from that experience, now maintains his own beef and cattle herd on a small farm (50 acres), in addition to his other activities. He married his wife Ann in 1972 and is the proud father of five boys and two girls. He has three granddaughters and three grandsons.

When away from the office, Terry enjoys hiking, trout fishing, working his farm, family activities, and church gatherings. To the extent possible Terry includes his wife and children in his activities, and cherishes time spent with them.

Terry has over 30 years of experience in consulting with clients on tax and accounting matters. In addition, he consults with his clients on various strategic issues concerning their businesses. His clients regularly use him as a "sounding board", based on his diverse business and accounting experience.

His industry expertise includes agricultural producers (farms and ranches) and processors, timber and other natural resources, construction contractors, medical practitioners and domestic and international disaster relief organizations. His expertise also lends itself to working with closely held and family businesses, and with professional and industry groups, including cooperatives and not-for-profit organizations.

Terry received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Oregon State University in 1969. The first five years of his career was spent with KPMG, an international CPA firm.
