Adam graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Studies. He went on to graduate from Indiana University Northwest with a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting in 2012. He passed the CPA exam in January 2018 and received his Oregon CPA licensure in December 2022. He enjoys desktop computer games and computer building.
